Are you not aware that I can call on My Father, and He will at once put at My disposal more than twelve legions of angels? But how then would the Scriptures be fulfilled that say it must happen this way?

Twelve legions
Twelve legions of angels: a force no army could stand against. Facing Jesus is a crowd with swords and clubs. He has a few sleepy disciples and one sword that was drawn too quickly. Yet he says: one request, and that help is here.
He doesn't ask. That isn't powerlessness, but a choice. His arrest doesn't simply happen to him. He lets it happen, because he believes Scripture points this way. Sometimes not stepping in takes more trust than stepping in.
Question for today
When is not stepping in the hardest choice for me?
Prayer
Father, Jesus could have asked for help and didn't, because he trusted you. Teach me when to act and when to let you work. Amen.
