It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by His own authority.

Not for you to know
The disciples ask whether Jesus will now restore the kingdom to Israel. Jesus doesn't reject that hope, but he does reject the question of when. There are two Greek words for time here: times and seasons. They are often explained as the time you can measure, and the right moment. Both rest with the Father.
That can be frustrating. But Jesus immediately gives them a task. You don't need to know the timetable to do today what is asked of you. In this way not knowing becomes a kind of rest.
Question for today
Which question to God can I let rest, without letting go of God himself?
Prayer
Thank you, Father, that you know the times I don't know. Let me do today what you give me to do. Amen.
