Even greater work

An astonishing promise. Whoever believes in Jesus will do what he did, and even more. How could anyone do greater work than healing the sick, feeding thousands and raising someone from the dead?

Jesus gives the reason himself: he is going to the Father. After that the Spirit comes, and his work carries on through his disciples, all over the world and down the centuries. The church father Augustine wrote that bringing someone who lived far from God back to him is a greater work than creating heaven and earth.
