For a little while longer, the Light will be among you. Walk while you have the Light, so that darkness will not overtake you. The one who walks in the darkness does not know where he is going. While you have the Light, believe in the Light, so that you may become sons of light.

Children of light
Jesus has just said that he will be lifted up, a picture of his death on the cross. The crowd has an objection. According to the Scriptures, the Messiah remains for ever. So how can the Son of Man be lifted up? Jesus doesn't debate. He only says: the light is with you for just a little while longer. Then he hides himself.
Children of light is a Hebrew way of speaking. A child of something is someone marked by it. You don't become such a child by winning a debate, but by walking while you can see where your feet are.

Prayer
Lord Jesus, your light is here now, today. Don't let me keep on talking when I can already see enough to walk. Amen.
