Not staying in the dark
These are almost the last words Jesus speaks in public in the Gospel of John. After this he withdraws with his disciples.
Notice the word abide. Jesus doesn't promise you will never be in the dark. He promises you don't have to stay there. Darkness is a place you pass through, not where you live.

Which darkness can become a passage today, rather than a place to live?

Lord, you are the light that came into the world. Where I am sitting in the dark, take me by the hand and lead me out. Amen.
