Faith for someone else
A non-Jewish officer in Capernaum asked Jesus nothing for himself. He came for a sick servant. Luke tells us the servant was dear to him. An officer so worried about a servant: that stands out. Jesus sends him home: as you have believed, so it will be done.
The servant himself never speaks in the story. He couldn't come, perhaps couldn't even hope any more. Someone else did it for him. Sometimes a person can't pray for themselves. Then you may do it for them.
Question for today
Who am I believing for, now that they can't manage it themselves?
Prayer
Lord Jesus, today I bring you someone who cannot come on their own. Do for them what I cannot. Amen.
My prayer
