The good news first
When Mark wrote his Gospel, probably some forty years after Jesus' death, this saying was already coming true. There were Christian churches in Syria, Asia Minor, Greece and Rome. And it had all begun with a handful of disciples from Galilee.
Everything hinges on the word first. Before the end comes, there is work to do: the good news has to reach all nations. Today the Bible, in whole or in part, has been translated into thousands of languages. The task is still under way.
Question for today
Where can I do a small part of that task today?
Prayer
Lord, you want all nations to know you. Use me, in the place where you have put me. Amen.
