Go home to your own people, and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and what mercy He has shown you.

Telling them at home
The possessed man has been set free. Now he badly wants to go with Jesus in the boat. Instead he gets a different task: go to your family and tell them what the Lord has done for you. Mark writes that he told the whole region what Jesus had done for him. Without any training, he passed it on.
At home everyone knew him as the man from the graves. Going home is sometimes harder than going away. Not everyone is called to leave everything behind. Sometimes your task lies precisely where everyone knows your past.
Question for today
Which place would I rather leave, though God wants me right there?
Prayer
Lord Jesus, sometimes I want to go with you, away from everyone who knows me. Make me brave enough to stay where you put me. Amen.
