Now My soul is troubled, and what shall I say? ‘Father, save Me from this hour’? No, it is for this purpose that I have come to this hour. Father, glorify Your name!

What shall I say?
A few days before his crucifixion, Jesus looks his coming death straight in the eye. He thinks out loud: shall I ask the Father to save me from this hour? But he chooses differently: Father, glorify your name. At once a voice sounds from heaven: God has glorified his name and will do so again.
God answers, but not everyone hears the same thing. Some think it is thunder. Others say an angel spoke to him. Jesus says the voice was for their sake. The same moment can be just weather to one person, and a word from God to another.
Question for today
Have I dismissed something as coincidence that may have been an answer from God?
Prayer
Father, there are hours I dread. Glorify your name right there, and give me ears to hear your answer. Amen.
