God says to Moses: let them make me a sanctuary, that I may dwell among them. When the tabernacle is finished, the cloud covers the tent and the glory of the LORD fills the dwelling.

John writes in his first chapter: the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us, and the Greek word means literally 'pitched his tent', and we beheld his glory. God's glory that filled the tent can now be seen in Jesus. Later he calls his body the temple. Hebrews sees the tabernacle as a copy of the true, heavenly sanctuary, and Revelation ends with: the tabernacle of God is with men. Paul calls the feasts and ordinances 'a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ' (Colossians 2:17).
