In three days
Jesus had driven the traders out of the temple. People asked by what right he did it. His answer sounded like nonsense. This temple has been forty-six years in building, they said, and you'll put it up in three days?
John writes that Jesus was speaking of the temple of his body. The disciples only understood after the resurrection. Then they remembered it. Some words of God you only understand afterwards.
