In two days

Passover remembers the liberation from Egypt. The lamb was slaughtered, the blood put on the doorposts, and slavery was over.

Jesus deliberately links his death to that feast. John has him die at the moment the lambs were being slaughtered in the temple. Paul later writes: Christ our passover is sacrificed for us. His death is a new exodus, out of another slavery.

Question for today

What does God want to set me free from?

Prayer

Lord Jesus, you are the Passover lamb. Thank you for the freedom you give. Let me live as a free person. Amen.
