Reading the sky

Jesus says: when the evening sky is red, you say it will be fair weather. A red morning sky means a storm. English has the same saying: red sky at night, shepherd's delight; red sky in the morning, shepherd's warning.

To be honest: this passage about the weather is missing from some important old manuscripts. The core is there anyway. People can read the weather, but don't see what is happening before their eyes. It is a call to look with open eyes.

Question for today

What is happening around me that I don't see?

Prayer

Lord, open my eyes to what you are doing in this time. Let me read not only the weather, but your signs too. Amen.
