Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?

Why are you weeping?
Mary Magdalene stood weeping at the empty tomb. She thought someone had taken the body away. Jesus was standing behind her, but she didn't recognise him.
He asks two questions. Why are you weeping? And: whom are you looking for? Not what, but whom. She was looking for a body. She found someone alive. Sometimes you are looking for something that is over, while he is already standing behind you.
Question for today
Whom am I really looking for, when I search?
Prayer
Lord Jesus, you see my tears. You ask whom I am looking for. I am looking for you. Let me turn round and recognise you. Amen.
