Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.

Woe unto thee, Chorazin
Chorazin and Bethsaida were villages by the Sea of Galilee, close to Capernaum. Jesus had done a great deal there. You can still see ruins of Chorazin, with a synagogue of black basalt from a later century.
This is a hard word. Jesus says pagan cities would have responded more quickly. Whoever has seen much also carries much responsibility. Being close is no guarantee. It asks for a response.
Question for today
What have I seen of God, and how am I responding?
Prayer
Lord, you have shown me a lot. Don't let me become indifferent, but let me respond with my whole life. Amen.
