Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?
Mark 4:40

Asleep in the storm
A great storm arose. The boat was filling with water. And Jesus was asleep in the stern, on a pillow. The disciples woke him: Master, carest thou not that we perish?
He first calmed the storm, and then asked his question. Not a sermon, but a question. It is striking that Mark mentions that pillow. You only remember a detail like that if you were there.
Question for today
Why am I actually so afraid?
Prayer
Lord, sometimes it seems you are asleep while my boat fills with water. Help me to trust that you are there. Calm the storm, and calm my fear. Amen.
