A child in the midst
On the way, the disciples had argued about which of them was the greatest. Jesus asked what they had been discussing. They held their peace.
Then he set a child in the midst of them and took it in his arms. Whoever receives such a child receives me. A child could do nothing for you. Whoever wants to be great must care about whoever is small.

Prayer
Lord, you took a child in your arms. Teach me to receive the little ones, without asking what I get out of it. Amen.
