When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am He.

Lifted up
In John, lifted up is a word with a double meaning. It means raised up, on the cross. And it means exalted, glorified.
Earlier Jesus compared himself to the bronze serpent Moses lifted up in the desert. Whoever looked at it lived. At the lowest moment, on the cross, it would become visible who he really is.
Question for today
Where does God show his greatness in a place I don't expect?
Prayer
Lord Jesus, you were lifted up on the cross. Let me look to you, and live. Amen.
