What it's worth

A sum. On one side the whole world: success, possessions, recognition. On the other side your soul. The Greek word also means your life, your deepest self.

Jesus says it just after announcing for the first time that he must suffer. Whoever wants to save his life will lose it. Whoever loses it for his sake will save it. It is the strangest and most honest balance sheet there is.

Question for today

What would I gain, and what would I lose?

Prayer

Lord, I want to achieve a lot. Don't let me lose myself along the way. Keep my soul, and teach me what really has value. Amen.
