An open question

Bartimaeus was blind and sat begging by the road near Jericho. When he heard Jesus was passing, he cried out for help. People told him to be quiet. He cried out all the more.

Jesus had him called. Bartimaeus threw off his cloak and jumped up. And then Jesus asks a question that seems obvious. What do you want? He wants to hear him say it. Prayer is also daring to name what you really want.

Question for today

If Jesus asks me today what I want, what do I say?

Prayer

Lord, you ask what I want. Help me to be honest. This is what I ask of you. And give me, like Bartimaeus, the courage to throw off my cloak. Amen.
