Whose son?
After all his opponents' questions, Jesus asked one himself. Everyone knew the answer: the Messiah is the son of David. But then why does David call him Lord in Psalm 110?
Psalm 110:1 is the Old Testament text most often quoted in the New Testament. Jesus shows that the Messiah is greater than a king from David's family. Mark writes that the common people heard him gladly.
Question for today
How great is Jesus in my thinking?
Prayer
Lord Jesus, you are the son of David, and greater than David. Don't let my picture of you be too small. Amen.
