Well done, good servant! Because you have been faithful in a very small matter, you shall have authority over ten cities.

Ten cities
This parable resembles the one about the talents, but there are differences. Here everyone receives the same: one pound, around a hundred days' wages. So it isn't about talent, but about what you do with the same.
Luke also tells that the man who wanted to become king first had to go to a far country, and that citizens sent a delegation after him. That is exactly what happened to Archelaus, the son of Herod, who travelled to Rome. Jesus used a story his listeners knew.
Question for today
What am I doing with what everyone has been given: time, a day, a life?
Prayer
Lord, you gave me the same day as everyone else. Let me be faithful with it. Amen.
