Life isn't possessions

Someone asked Jesus to settle an inheritance dispute with his brother. Jesus refused to be the arbiter. Instead he warned about something deeper.

Your life doesn't depend on what you own. Not even when you own a lot. It's a simple sentence, but it collides with almost everything our culture tells us.

Question for today

What do I think I need in order to really live?

Prayer

Lord, keep me from greed. Teach me that my life is more than my things, my salary and my plans. Amen.
