Letting yourself be served
When Jesus wanted to wash his feet, Peter refused. Thou shalt never wash my feet! It felt wrong for his master to do that dirty work.
Jesus answered sharply: if I don't wash you, you don't belong to me. Then Peter turned right round: not my feet only, but also my hands and my head. For some people serving is easier than being served. But with Jesus it begins with receiving.

Do I dare to let Jesus serve me?

Lord, I would rather give than receive. Teach me to let you wash me, because without that I don't belong to you. Amen.
