To this very day My Father is at His work, and I too am working.

The Father is working
Jesus had healed a man on the sabbath at the pool of Bethesda. He was accused of breaking the day of rest. His answer went deeper than a rule.
Jewish thinkers such as Philo of Alexandria already discussed that God never stops working. He sustains the world, on the sabbath too. Jesus says: as my Father works, so do I. To his opponents it sounded as if he was making himself equal with God. That was exactly what he meant.
Question for today
Where do I see God at work today?
Prayer
Father, you are always working, even when I don't see it. Let me work together with what you are doing. Amen.
