Two small coins
Jesus sat opposite the temple treasury and watched people giving money. The rich gave a lot. A poor widow gave two mites, the smallest coins there were.
Jesus counts differently. It isn't what you give that counts, but what you keep back. The rich gave out of their abundance. She gave everything she had to live on.
Question for today
Do I give from what's left over, or do I give something that costs me?

Lord, you don't look at the size of my gift, but at my heart. Make me generous and full of trust, like that widow. Amen.
