The new covenant

Paul wrote these words down around the year 55. He says: I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you. It is the oldest written form of Jesus' words at the Last Supper, older than the Gospels.

Testament here means covenant. The same words appear in Luke 22. It was reading them there that is said to have given the publisher of the first red-letter Bible his idea.

Question for today

What does it mean to me to live in that new covenant?

Prayer

Lord Jesus, thank you for the new covenant in your blood. When I drink the cup, let me remember you. Amen.
