Enough for today

Jesus doesn't say tomorrow will be free of worries. He says you don't have to carry them today. Tomorrow comes with its own burden, but also with its own strength.

When Israel crossed the desert, manna fell every morning. Anyone who gathered more than one day's worth found it spoiled the next morning. The bread came one day at a time. So did the trust.

Question for today

Which worry about tomorrow can I leave alone today?

Prayer

Father, I like to plan ahead. I want to know how things will turn out. Give me today what I need for today, and teach me to leave the rest to you. Amen.
