Flee to the mountains

Jesus warned that a time would come to flee. Not to stay and fight, not to fetch your things first. Away, into the mountains.

The church historian Eusebius writes that before the war with Rome the Christians of Jerusalem fled to Pella, across the Jordan. And there is a Dutch connection here. In 1847 the Dutch pastor Scholte founded a town in America for his congregation. He called it Pella, after that place of refuge.
