The first words in Mark
These are the first words of Jesus in the Gospel of Mark. Short and powerful, like the whole of Mark. A summary of everything that follows.
Repent sounds heavy. The Greek word literally means: to change your mind, to turn around. It isn't a punishment, but an invitation. Something new has begun, and you may be part of it.
Question for today
Where may I start thinking differently today?
Prayer
Lord, your kingdom is at hand. Turn me around, towards you. Let me believe that it is good news. Amen.
