Rest is for you
The disciples plucked ears of corn on the sabbath as they walked through a field. Pharisees saw that as work, and work was not allowed on the sabbath.
Jesus turns it around. The day of rest is a gift for people, not a burden. Rest isn't a rule you have to comply with. It is a present from God, which he already gave at creation.

How can I receive a moment of rest this week as a gift?

Father, you gave us rest as a gift. Teach me to stop without guilt, and to receive rest from you. Amen.
