It is enough
A puzzling moment. Jesus said that whoever had no sword should sell his cloak and buy one. The disciples showed him two. Jesus said: it is enough.
What did he mean? Two swords aren't enough for a fight. Many interpreters think he was saying: enough of this, you don't understand. A few hours later he would order Peter to put his sword away. Not every word of Jesus is simple. That's all right.
Question for today
Can I live with a word I don't fully understand?
Prayer
Lord, I don't understand everything about you. Thank you for your patience with disciples who often get it wrong, like me. Amen.
