Friends through the roof
Four friends carried a paralysed man to Jesus. The house was full, so they uncovered the roof and let him down. Mark writes that Jesus saw their faith. The faith of the friends.
And the first thing Jesus says is not: get up. It is: your sins are forgiven. Only then does he heal the man. He saw a deeper need than the paralysis.
Question for today
For whom can I be a friend who breaks through roofs today?
Prayer
Lord, thank you for the friends who brought me to you. Make me that kind of friend for others. And thank you that you see my deepest need first. Amen.
