One more year

The owner of a vineyard had a fig tree that hadn't borne fruit for three years. He wanted to cut it down. Why should it go on using up the ground?

The gardener asked for one more year. He would dig around it and give it manure. Then we'll see. This parable is about patience, and about someone who pleads for you. God gives time, and more care than you expect.

Question for today

Where am I being given another year, and what will I do with it?

Prayer

Lord, thank you for your patience with me. Dig around my roots and give me what I need to bear fruit. Amen.
