Asked three times
After breakfast by the lake, Jesus asks Peter three times whether he loves him. Three times, just as often as Peter had denied him. The third time, Peter is grieved.
Jesus doesn't bring up the past to shame Peter. For every denial he gives him a new confession. And after every answer, a task: feed my sheep. With Jesus, restoration is not a punishment, but a new calling.

Where do I need restoring, and do I dare to hear Jesus' question?

Lord, you know all things. You know that I love you, even though I sometimes let you down. Restore me, and give me something to do for you. Amen.
