Shouldn’t you have had mercy on your fellow servant, just as I had on you?

Ten thousand talents
A servant owed his king ten thousand talents. An unimaginable sum, more than he could earn in a thousand lifetimes. The king cancelled the debt. Straight afterwards that servant grabbed a colleague by the throat who owed him a hundred denarii.
A hundred denarii was no trifle, around three months' wages. But compared with what he had been forgiven, it was nothing. Whoever realises how much they have been forgiven can no longer grab others by the throat.
Question for today
How great is what I have been forgiven, compared with what I hold against someone else?
Prayer
Lord, you have cancelled a debt I could never pay. Make me merciful to those who owe me something. Amen.
