Put out into deep water and let down your nets for a catch.

At thy word
Simon was a fisherman. He had worked all night and caught nothing. Then a carpenter from Nazareth told him to try again, in deep water. To an experienced fisherman that sounded strange.
Simon said honestly what he thought: we have toiled all the night. And then: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net. The nets almost broke. Sometimes Jesus doesn't ask you to work harder, but to trust again where you had already given up.
Question for today
Where have I given up, while Jesus says: try again?
Prayer
Lord, I know my trade and my limits. Still, I want to listen when you say something different. At your word I will let down my net once more today. Amen.
