What eternal life is
Jesus begins his long prayer with: Father, the hour is come. Then he gives a definition. Eternal life isn't first of all a place or a time. It is knowing.
In the Bible, knowing means more than having information. It is knowing someone personally, in a relationship. The way you know a friend. So eternal life begins now, in the relationship with God.

How well do I know God, not as information, but as a person?
