Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of My Father in heaven.

Not everyone who says Lord
This is one of the most sobering words of Jesus. He says some will say: we have prophesied in thy name, cast out devils and done many wonderful works. And he will say: I never knew you.
Impressive spiritual things are no proof. What matters is doing the Father's will, and being known by Jesus. Faith isn't a performance, but a relationship.
Question for today
Do I know Jesus, or mainly things about him?
Prayer
Lord Jesus, I don't only want to say Lord, Lord. I want to know you and be known by you. Let me do what the Father wills. Amen.
