Not for everyone

After a strict saying about faithfulness in marriage, the disciples said: then it is better not to marry. Jesus answered that not everyone can do that. Some remain unmarried for the sake of the kingdom.

Jesus himself was not married. In a culture where marriage was taken for granted, he also gave room and dignity to those who stayed single. There are different callings. Not everyone has to walk the same path.
