Who sinned?

The disciples saw a man who had been born blind. Their question was that of their time: whose fault is this? His, or his parents'? Jesus rejected that question. Not all suffering is punishment.

He made clay, put it on his eyes and sent him to the pool of Siloam. Archaeologists found that pool again in 2004. The man came back seeing. When he was questioned later, he said: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see.

Question for today

Which question of blame can I let go of?

Prayer

Lord, I often look for someone to blame. Teach me instead to look for what you want to do. Let your work be seen, even in what is hard. Amen.
