Stay with me
In Gethsemane Jesus told his three closest friends how he felt. Sorrowful unto death. It recalls Psalm 42: why art thou cast down, O my soul?
Jesus didn't hide his fear. And he asked for company. Tarry here, watch with me. Even he didn't want to be alone in his hardest hour. It isn't weak to ask people to stay with you.
Question for today
Whom do I ask to stay with me when things are hard, and with whom can I stay?
Prayer
Lord Jesus, you didn't want to be alone in your distress. Teach me to ask for help, and let me stay awake beside those who need me. Amen.
