Every idle word
The Greek word for idle literally means inactive, lazy, without effect. Words you say carelessly.
Just before this Jesus says: out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. Words aren't just loose sounds. They show what is in your heart. And they do something to others. That is why they matter.
