Going on ahead

Mark describes it like a scene from a film. They were on the road to Jerusalem, and Jesus went before them. The disciples were amazed, and as they followed, they were afraid.

For the third time Jesus told them what would happen. Handed over, condemned, mocked, killed, and after three days risen. He knew. And still he walked in front. The road from Jericho to Jerusalem climbs more than a thousand metres. Literally and figuratively, he went up.
