If I want him to remain until I return, what is that to you? You follow Me!

What is that to you?
Jesus had just told Peter that he would later die a hard death. Peter turned round and saw the disciple whom Jesus loved. Lord, and what shall this man do?
The answer is short. What is that to you? Follow thou me. Peter had to walk his own road, not someone else's. John adds that a rumour spread that this disciple would not die. Jesus hadn't said that. Comparing leads to confusion.
Question for today
With whom do I compare my road, while Jesus says: follow thou me?
Prayer
Lord, I often look at other people's paths. Let me walk my own road with you. Follow thou me. Yes, Lord. Amen.
