I have longed for this
The King James keeps the Greek literally here: with desire I have desired. A Hebrew way of saying something very strongly.
Jesus knew what was coming. Yet he looked forward to this meal, with these people. With Peter, who would deny him, and with Judas, who would betray him. He wanted to sit at table with them. That is how he longs for time with you too.

Do I know that Jesus longs to be with me?
