Fire on the earth

This is one of the less gentle words of Jesus. Straight afterwards he says he hasn't come to bring peace on earth, but division. Families would disagree about him.

Fire warms, but it also purifies and changes everything it touches. Jesus didn't come to make our lives a little more pleasant. He wants to set something alight. At Pentecost the Spirit appeared as tongues of fire.
