I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep.

A shepherd who stays
Jesus describes a shepherd who calls his sheep by name and walks ahead of them. The sheep follow him because they know his voice.
Against this he sets the hired hand. He runs away as soon as the wolf comes, because the sheep are not his. The good shepherd stays. He goes so far as to give his life for them.
Question for today
Do I recognise his voice among all the other voices?
Prayer
Good Shepherd, you know my name. Teach me to recognise your voice and to follow you. Thank you that you don't run away when it gets dangerous. Amen.
