I am not asking on behalf of them alone, but also on behalf of those who will believe in Me through their message, that all of them may be one.

He prayed for you
John 17 is the longest prayer of Jesus we have. He prays it just before his arrest. First for himself, then for his disciples.
And then he looks further. He prays for everyone who would later believe through their word. That is us. On the evening before his death Jesus prayed for people who hadn't yet been born, for you too. And his prayer was: that they may be one.
Question for today
What does it do to me that Jesus has prayed for me?
Prayer
Lord Jesus, you prayed for me long before I existed. Thank you. Make us one, all Christians, across borders and churches. Amen.
