Here I am, it is written about Me in the scroll: I have come to do Your will, O God.

Lo, I come
The letter to the Hebrews does something remarkable. The writer puts words from the Psalms into the mouth of Christ. Here they are lines from Psalm 40.
It is as if Christ, coming into the world, says to God: here I am, to do your will. God didn't want sacrifices. He wanted a life that is wholly available. You can pray those words yourself too.
Question for today
Can I say today: lo, I come, to do thy will?
Prayer
God, lo, I come. Not with sacrifices, but with myself. To do your will. Amen.
